SEINGIM works with Port Authorities to achieve decarbonisation objectives
31.05.24
SEINGIM works with Port Authorities to achieve decarbonisation objectives in the infrastructure sector as well, by enhancing and preserving the local area.
On behalf of the North Adriatic ADSP, we have developed the Technical-Economic Feasibility Project for the electrification of the Saloni quay in the Port of Chioggia, co-financed by the European Union in the framework of the EALING project (European Flagship Action for Cold Ironing in Ports), with the aim of enabling the supply of electricity from shore (cold ironing) to cruise and river vessels moored at the quay of Isola Saloni.
SEINGIM developed both an analysis of the project alternatives (including a solution involving the integration of an SOFC cogeneration system) and a cost-benefit analysis (in accordance with the European standards ‘Guide to Cost-Benefit Analysis of Investment Projects’ defined by DG REGIO) to identify the best solution in terms of both energy efficiency and environmental and social benefits required for EU co-funded projects.
SEINGIM’s experience and expertise in design and engineering consultancy will be made available to the country to develop solutions that not only meet immediate needs but are also in line with long-term environmental sustainability goals.
