Medgaz expansion project, Phase I in Beni Saf, Algeria

Medgaz manages the gas pipeline in deep water from Algeria to Europe, across Spain, providing natural gas directly from Beni Saf, on the Algerian coast, to Almeria in Andalusia (Spain). The 24-inch gas pipeline guarantees the most direct and affordable route to provide natural gas to southern Europe.

Arkad-ABB is responsible for the engineering, procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and assistance to launch the phase 1 expansion project for the Beni Saf compression station, which will increase the gas compression capacity by adding a fourth turbo compressor train and accessories. This will allow Medgaz to increase gas exports from the current 8 billion m3/year to approximately 10.5 billion m3/year.
